If you long to have a beneficial impact on your community, and to contribute powerfully in the world, you’ll need to cultivate lion-hearted bravery. These three keys are vital to awaken this kind of courage.
As I took my walk through the woods today, I was thinking about how much courage it takes to show up in the world.
There are doubts to wrestle with, there’s the impostor syndrome to negotiate, and there’s an entire social media jungle to navigate…
If you – like me – long to have a beneficial impact on your community, and to contribute powerfully in the world, you’ll need to cultivate lion-hearted bravery.
These three things feel vital to awaken this kind of courage:
- A Passionate Vision.
A clear and vibrant vision is like an oasis in the desert: you feed it when you’re fully connected to the soul of your work, and in those moments of uncertainty, it will feed you and your offerings.
2. A Devoted Wolfpack.
A network of uplifting, loyal people will help you to transform your fear of stepping forward. They will encourage you to be bold, they will hold space for you through your challenges, and they will inspire your sense of curiosity and adventure.
3. Awe-inspiring heroes.
You are standing on the shoulders of giants: taking time to remember and honour them connects you to a reservoir of inspiration that is truly endless. The suffragettes, MLK, your Grandmother – whoever it is for you – their passion and love will galvanise you in tough times.
What helps you to develop courage as you give your gifts to the world? I’d love to hear from you.
I’m celebrating your bravery,
Sophie
