At this time of year, I love nothing more than carving out half an hour with a mug of tea and a brilliant book.
I just wrapped up Michelle Obama’s memoir (stunning!) and it reminded me how much we can learn about leadership from hearing other women’s stories.
So I thought I’d share with you three of my all-time favourite reads from pioneering women leaders, to inspire and uplift you over the Winter months.
Becoming ~ by Michelle Obama
It’s both humbling and inspiring to witness how a graceful leader like Michelle Obama is born! “I like me” she stated in a recent interview with Oprah, and somehow – through the honest and vulnerable weaving of her story – Michelle awakened a fresh sense of self-worth and resiliance in me.
The Signature of All Things ~ by Elizabeth Gilbert
If you love being whisked away into another woman’s world with vivid, evocative landscapes, it doesn’t get any better than this! This beautifully written story follows one of many trail-blazing (and forgotten) women of science and her love affair with Nature, across the globe from London to Peru to Tahiti.
Wild Feminine ~ By Tami Lynn Kent
Some say that if you do 10,000 hours of a certain activity, you become a genius at it. As a ground-breaking women’s health physiotherapist, Tami has sat with over 10,000 women. In this book she tells their stories; each one full of real wisdom about how to be an embodied feminine leader in our modern world.
May this Winter be a time of deep inspiration for you!
Love, Sophie
